“Le potager de Chimel” is an Android app published by L'atelier de Chimel (Michel, Belgium). This page explains what data the app uses and why.
Your data stays on your phone
Everything you enter in the app (first name, garden plan, beds, crops, journal, tasks, harvests, settings) is stored only on your device. The app does not ask for an account, has no server of its own and sends none of this data to us. No advertising, analytics or tracking tools are built in.
Weather (Open-Meteo)
If you choose a town for the weather, the app sends the following to the Open-Meteo service (open-meteo.com):
- the text you type to search for your town;
- the approximate coordinates of the chosen town (latitude and longitude), to get the forecast.
These exchanges are encrypted (HTTPS) and are used only to show the weather and frost or rain alerts. Your phone's GPS location is never used. The weather is optional: without a town, no data is sent. See Open-Meteo's privacy policy: open-meteo.com/en/terms
Subscriptions (Google Play)
Subscriptions are managed by Google Play. Payment and billing information are processed by Google, under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). The app only receives confirmation that the subscription is active.
Fonts
The app may download its fonts from Google Fonts servers. This download contains no personal data but, as with any internet connection, Google sees the device's IP address.
Notifications
Reminders (frost, today's tasks) are calculated and displayed on your phone. You can turn them off in the app's profile or in Android settings.
Deleting your data
As everything is stored on your device, you can erase it all by clearing the app's data in Android settings or by uninstalling the app. We keep no copy.
Children
The app is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect any data from children.
